While the way you've drawn your character looks a tiny bit messy, I like how her outlines jiggle in similar fashion to something like Ed, Edd, 'n' Eddy. Also, the animation is not bad at all!

Thanks! I wanted to try something different!
Well, it's an informative video and the visual editing is quite nice; however, I don't see this as necessarily the kind of content I'd expect from Newgrounds. It's nothing personal, but I see this site as a showcase of animation talent. While I see some animated effects in this, I'd appreciate it if you were to add more custom artwork at the very least. Even animations that you'd see in a video like one on the LORE channel will really spice it up!
With that said, I'm willing to follow your content on YouTube and other social media platforms!
Hey! The animation is really good and the character designs are rather distinct! I have no idea if you crafted this yourself or "traced" the actions from an existing video; however, if you make more videos with this kind of fluidity, then you are going places!
EDIT: Thanks for telling me that you didn't trace! I will point out that using animation as reference is nothing to be ashamed of. As long as you don't directly trace and maybe add your own spin to the action, then it's perfectly fine! Keep up the great work!
Thank you for saying that! I'm glad you think it's really good!
I did not trace, but I did use animation frames from the OP of Keep Your Hands Off EIzouken as references. I hope to make more great stuff like this in the future! :)
Hey! This is actually better than your previous one! The audio is more pleasant for headphone users and you're implementing more frame-by-frame animation! Plus, you used lip sync!
Sure, I miss the coloring and shading that was in the previous video, but this you're going in a much better direction now! Keep up the good work and continue experimenting!
Well, Isabelle and the backgrounds are drawn very nicely! Also, the voice clip is quite humorous.
If I have one concern, it's that this is more of an animatic than an actual animation. Regardless, I'd love to see you create an actual animation later down the line!
Glad you're still using Newgrounds, my friend!
At first, I was worried that there'll be a distinct lack of puppets in this video, but seeing that kraken's trumpet solo left me nothing to dread! I was laughing out the wazoo thanks to your video! Very reminiscent of humor from the Muppet Show! Also, I like how the megaphone sounded loud, yet not loud to the point of bothering headphone users!
I say that the characters and most of the the backgrounds are designed well enough. Also, this is a rather wholesome idea by having the character search for the North Pole.
Now, while I stated the good points, the not-so-good points involve the animation. Not only is there a heavy reliance on motion tweens, but they also look stiff and rather artificial. On top of that, part of the story make very little sense. One moment, your character was walking down the road and melted. Next thing you know it, he is frozen in an ice block at the North Pole. It's a little baffling.
Thank you for the critique. I definitely understand the stiff animation point. It's something I'm always working on improving but have a hard time doing. The plot stuff was definitely reaching at times but I thought of it as Christmas magic. I know thats not a great answer but that's how I pictured it. Unfortunately that may have been hard to see in the end result.
Sounds like your best friend is not the kind of guy I would actually meet willingly. I hope he has matured since then.
So, for my thoughts on the animation, I admire that you lack a dependency on motion tweens and the lip sync is very solid! Now, for my critiques, the art direction and the palette are both super basic. Sure, the characters have clothing that are not exactly from the default palette, but everything is just way too saturated. Also, I know you're a cartoonist, but trying to draw things a bit more realistically (not just humans, but also backgrounds) will catch the eyes of more people.
With that said, while I complimented your dependency of frames instead of motion tweens, that's about half the battle. The other half is actually using frame-by-frame animation properly. I noticed that some of these characters are hardly that animated. The one representing you, of course, just stands there as you speak. Also, if your actions are not stiff, then they are pretty awkward. For instance, when that kid of the glasses plucked the dandelion, the motion of the arm just looked unnatural.
Still, I have seen a few moments where you are capable of advance animation. The sequence where your friend charged up for a super punch is a good example, even though it's far from perfect. Just keep practicing and try more advanced animation sequences. Regardless of the quality, simply creating and improving them will at least provide subtle changes to your skill.
I really appreciate your honesty. I know im not good, and thats because i use my phone for this XD, but i try get a little better each video. Later in the future, i will probably get better once i get an actual drawing tablet.
I'm a tightly wound animator, but as long as I have good friends, I have a better time managing my life. Just ask if you need anything!
