That is a nice use of motion tweens! It compliments your art direction, which is endearingly simple, pretty well! Also, the subject matter is rather wholesome!

Now, my biggest concern is that the boop isn't conveyed clearly enough. Since the arms are greatly stylized and the perspective is a little off on them. They appear that they are emerging from the ground instead of from an upright torso. Also, I think a cute sound effect (i.e. a slight squeak) will provide a better clue that you're not just squeezing their muzzles.

By the way, care to try more ambitious animation techniques in the future? Motion tweens have their place, but they only go so far before you need to create several frames by hand.

I remember watching this on YouTube and I liked it there! Your K. Rool puppet is quite impressive and I have a soft spot for those Gnawty puppets!

I wish this had more frames, but you drew the characters very well. Also, the surprise at the end was highly humorous! You hold great potential as an animator!

Thank You

For an older video, it still looks really good! If I must offer any sort of critique, it's that the motions of the puppets are a tiny bit stiff at times. Still, I'm certain you've sorted that problem out years later.

It should go without saying that you create excellent work!

Since this is an animation from 2016, this might explain why the quality isn't as good as it should be. With that in mind, I'll assume you've improved your work.

The positive points of this are that the main character designs are super creative and the story and gags are funny. In spite of that, the animation as well as the overall needs a lot of work. Regarding the former, you didn't use a good amount of hand drawn frames for some actions, while depending too heavily on basic motion tweens for other actions. As for the latter problem, your artwork looks like a bunch of scribbles with the paint brush tool hastily filled in with the paint bucket. Plus, the color palette is way too much. If you tidied it up without sacrificing the visual style you're attempting to portray, then you might have an appealing animation on your hands.

If you created new animations in recent years, then I'd love to view them and judge your progress.

MatyBoy-Toons responds:

Thank you for your honest opinion, I needed that.

I am still learning and improving a lot, and I really like doing animated projects. I want to do more projects and thus improve a lot.

Well, I wish the characters were animated a little better, but at least they look rather creative! I know you're parodying the King of the Hill intro, but there is hardly anything happening here. The only interesting action is when that man in the moose costume (or at least it looks like a moose costume) ate the fly. I'm not saying that these characters need to leap out of a burning building on a unicycle, but try to give them more movement instead of simply having them stand there.

I will say that the hand at the beginning of this (the one that pulls the light switch) is animated well enough. Sure, there's a basic motion tween as it approaches the cord, but the action itself looks nice. The characters, though simplistic in design, have a touch of nice shading. They could use some more movements instead of just standing there in a "slideshow style," but that's merely my opinion. As for the music, while it sounded nice, it turned vastly unpleasant when the green character was reacting towards the gun. I understand you're conveying a certain emotion, but headphone users are not accustomed to audio of that nature. Perhaps try something else for the soundtrack next time?

I'm a tightly wound animator, but as long as I have good friends, I have a better time managing my life. Just ask if you need anything!
